Camping-Car Park reports 262,000 overnight stays in Normandy in 2025, up 28% from 2024. Meanwhile, in Dordogne, thieves stole a brand-new €60,000 motorhome from a retired couple’s driveway using keys left inside the house.

Growth in Normandy

In 2025, motorhome tourism in Normandy increased by 28% compared to 2024. According to the Camping-Car Park network, 262,000 overnight stays were recorded. The most popular site was near Mont-Saint-Michel with 72,362 stays. The rise is attributed to a high concentration of motorhome owners and the region’s attractive destinations.

Theft in Dordogne

During the Easter weekend, a brand-new motorhome worth €60,000 was stolen from the driveway of a retired couple in Eyraud-Crempse-Maurens. The thieves entered the house, took the vehicle keys, as well as cash and gold jewellery. The incident is part of a series of thefts the gendarmerie of Dordogne had warned about.
