On Tuesday at the 'Le Domaine de Longemer' campsite in the Vosges department, a man in his 60s, allegedly intoxicated, barricaded himself in his motorhome with a knife after an argument with his partner, threatening to detonate gas canisters. 400 people were evacuated; about 80 spent the night in chalets or on Red Cross cots. After negotiations with three negotiators and 20 military personnel, the man surrendered and was arrested around 23:00–23:30. No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, December 30, an incident occurred at the 'Le Domaine de Longemer' campsite in Xonrupt-Longemer (Vosges department) involving a man in his 60s. According to sources, after an argument with his partner, he barricaded himself in his motorhome, armed with a knife, and, allegedly intoxicated, threatened suicide and to explode gas canisters by opening their valves.

Authorities immediately launched a large-scale operation: a police cordon was set up, and 400 people were evacuated from the fully booked campsite. About 80 of them were accommodated overnight in chalets or on cots provided by the Red Cross. Three negotiators, supported by 20 military personnel, conducted negotiations with the man.

Around 23:00–23:30, the man surrendered and was taken into custody. No injuries were reported. The suspect has been placed in custody.
