New Motorhome Parking Spaces Near Sylt Station

On April 30 at around 5:30 PM, a parked caravan on an orchard farm in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen was completely destroyed by fire. The flames spread to an adjacent wood storage, but firefighters prevented further damage. The cause and damage amount are under investigation.

Motorhome and caravan owners are outraged by the decision to close the Hoschenhof campsite in Neukirchen-Vluyn. Residents must leave their homes by the end of 2029. An online petition has been launched against the closure.

Sunlight has announced the production launch of the IBEX off-road camper van based on the VW Crafter. Orders will open in August 2026. The model features 4MOTION all-wheel drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 163 hp diesel engine. Equipment includes a light bar, 18-inch off-road tires, and a reinforced fiberglass roof. Guests park on private land in exchange for a purchase at the farm shop or a meal. The app provides host profiles, photos, route planning and booking; a maximum of three vehicles per site is allowed.

The cause remains unknown; no license plates were attached and the owner is unidentified. Damage is estimated in the low four-digit euro range.
