In February 2026, the Greek police headquarters issued a clarifying directive stating that motorhomes are now treated as regular vehicles. This means they can park wherever other cars are allowed, unless specific prohibitions apply. Within built-up areas, motorhomes up to 7.5 meters in length can park without time limits; larger vehicles and caravans are limited to 24 hours. Outside built-up areas, parking is permitted on designated areas, the right edge of the road, or the shoulder. Overnight stays without setting up camping equipment are considered parking, not wild camping, which remains prohibited.
