On Saturday evening, a folding caravan on Bjirkewei in Twijzelerheide was completely destroyed by fire. The fire was reported around 11:10 PM, and the fire brigade from De Westereen responded with a tanker pumper. Upon arrival, the caravan was fully ablaze; firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing further spread. The caravan, loaded with car tires, was deliberately set on fire and is considered a total loss.

They reject postponing travel until retirement, instead prioritizing trips with family and friends while still working. The couple plans to volunteer at a Croatian campsite in exchange for a pitch after retiring.

On Friday afternoon in Zonnemaire, a caravan battery exploded. The fire department secured the scene after a call at 15:35. The battery was disconnected, removed, and safely packaged for disposal. No injuries were reported.
