On April 22–23, a group of travellers (50–60 caravans) occupied a sports field and adjacent site in Parempuyre. The town hall reached a 15-day agreement with a voluntary contribution to the CCAS.
According to different sources, on April 22 or April 23, between 50 and 60 caravans of the traveller community occupied a sports field in the commune of Parempuyre (Gironde). Sud Ouest reported that about 60 caravans settled directly on the sports field on April 22. Bulletin Bordelais stated that more than 50 caravans occupied a site next to the field on April 23.
Mayor Henri Lagarrigue negotiated an agreement with community representatives, including Antoine Flores. The parties agreed that the stay would last a maximum of 15 days, after which the travellers would leave. In return, the community will make a voluntary donation to the municipal CCAS (Centre Communal d'Action Sociale). Bordeaux Métropole provided waste containers. According to Flores, the move was prompted by unsatisfactory conditions at the previous site. He also highlighted the lack of equipped stopping areas for travellers in the Bordeaux region due to incomplete implementation of the Besson law.
