The RVDA Convention/Expo 2026 call for proposals closes May 8; Curt Steinhorst will deliver the keynote. FRVTA Executive Director Dave Kelly retires after 38 years. RVIA subcommittees met on standards, and CRVA will hold its annual general meeting on May 20.

Over the past week, several incidents involving recreational vehicles have been reported: fires in Florida, Canada, and Virginia, and a camper-towing truck rollover. No casualties, and open fire bans are in effect in some areas.

The municipally owned RV sani-dump station in Salmon Arm opened for the season on April 10. Located at 1100 20 St. SW, the facility features two dump ports, a $10 usage fee, garbage disposal, and a landscaped area. The station recorded 900 users during its first full operational season last year.

St. Clair Township council approved an independent study for Mooretown Campground to assess repairs and avoid closure. Denbighshire authorities progress plans for six official motorhome sites including Rhyl and Prestatyn. South Donegal grants permission for a new motorhome park with ten pitches and amenities.

The B.C. government is dismantling one of Abbotsford's largest unauthorized RV camps. Utilities were cut in November 2025 due to vandalism, and the last two residents are leaving. Full cleanup is expected by the end of April.

Belleville Police arrested a 43-year-old Hamilton man following an attempted theft of an RV from a business on Old Highway 2. The suspect fled in a truck, damaging three vehicles and the RV before colliding with a pole; witnesses detained him until police arrived. He faces charges including robbery with violence, dangerous operation, and failure to comply with a probation order.
