Kazakhstan's first official RV camping opened in Astana, while Japan launched five new RV parks in February 2026. The network of paid parking for caravanners is expanding in both countries.
On April 25, 2026, Kazakhstan's first official RV camping opened in Astana's Zhetysu park, coinciding with a caravan rally. Despite approval from the city administration, police visited several times to check parking rules. The first year is free; only motorhomes are allowed, tents and barbecues are prohibited.
In Japan, five new RV parks opened between February 10 and 13, 2026:
- RV Park ACAO FOREST (Atami, Shizuoka) — two spots, electricity, water, toilet, view of Sagami Bay, from ¥4,400/night.
- RV Park ASKIA (Kagawa) — five spots, electricity, 24-hour toilet, waste disposal, from ¥6,380/night.
