The city of Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, has completed a public parking lot for temporary storage of campers, caravans, and abandoned vehicles. The 130-space facility opened on March 17, 2026, following parking law amendments that allow towing of vehicles parked for over a month.
The city of Jinju has opened a specialized municipal parking lot for the temporary storage of campers, caravans, and long-abandoned vehicles. Located in the Jinju-Ppuri Industrial Complex (Jeongchon-myeon, Yeha-ri), the facility was completed on March 17, 2026.

The lot also includes spaces for regular cars, disabled parking, and electric vehicles.
Background
The project was initiated in response to parking law amendments effective July 2024, which allow authorities to tow vehicles that have been parked on free public lots for more than one month. The new facility is designed to temporarily store such vehicles, particularly campers and caravans that were often left on streets and in residential areas.
