RV park projects approved in US and Australia amid local concerns

County commissioners unanimously approved a rezoning request for the Stillwater Estates project in Homosassa, Florida. The amendment converts 55 planned cabins into 110 RV sites on a 39.6-acre section, down from an initial proposal of 213 sites. The approval followed a recommendation from the Planning and Development Commission.

The Abilene City Council in Texas has approved a 957-space RV park on Elmdale Road. The facility is intended as temporary housing for workers of the expanding data center industry. Local residents have raised concerns about traffic, which could increase to nearly 2000 vehicles daily.

A Florida county has approved plans for a new RV resort and hotel. Pasco County commissioners voted 3-2 to develop a 350-site RV park and a 250-room hotel in Dade City. The developer, Dhruv Development, reduced the initial proposal from 550 to 350 RV spaces.

The Abilene City Council in Texas has approved a nearly 1,000-space RV park development. Developers must comply with new regulations, including a density limit of no more than 10 RV spaces per acre and a traffic impact study. The site is intended to house employees for a planned AI data center, not as a traditional RV park.
