Mercedes-Benz design chief Robert Lešnik says station wagons are no longer popular, especially in the US and China. Meanwhile, the new Adria Supertwin 2026 camper on a Mercedes chassis shows a shift in trends.

Mercedes-Benz head of exterior design Robert Lešnik stated that station wagons (estates) have lost relevance. Sales have dropped in the US and China, and models are too expensive in Europe. Mercedes still offers petrol C-Class, CLA, and E-Class wagons, but an electric C-Class wagon is not planned yet. The decision may be reconsidered if BMW launches an i3 Touring.

At the same time, the new Adria Supertwin 2026 camper has been introduced, built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. It features a double bed, an induction hob kitchen, and a separate bathroom with shower. Thus, while classic wagons decline, the camper segment on Mercedes platforms continues to grow.

Digital Pathfinder: What the Garmin Womonavi Can Do

The Garmin Camper 795 MT-D EU is a specialized navigation system for motorhomes and caravans. It warns about low bridges, height and weight restrictions, and environmental zones. In testing, the device correctly identified height limits in nine out of ten cases but occasionally made errors, such as declaring a campsite access road a no-go zone. The system also draws significant power from the vehicle's electrical system.
