Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the updated Marco Polo camper based on the V-Class. Key changes include a new aluminum pop-up roof with 10 cm more headroom, MBAC smart home-style controls, and a shift of production to its own plant in Ludwigsfelde. A simplified Horizon version is also announced.
Mercedes-Benz has presented a comprehensive update to its Marco Polo camper for the 2026 model year. The most notable change is a new two-layer aluminum pop-up roof that increases interior height by 10 cm and improves thermal insulation. Inside, the camper features configurable LED lighting, magnetic sunshades, and a premium 8-speaker audio system. All living area functions CAN now be controlled via a central display or smartphone through the MBAC system (Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control).
Production and Horizon variant
Production of the Marco Polo has been moved entirely to Mercedes-Benz's own facility in Ludwigsfelde, Germany, ending the partnership with Westfalia. The company says this will shorten delivery times. In addition to the standard model, a new entry-level HORIZON version without an integrated kitchen and wardrobe has been introduced, aiming for a lower starting price (around €80,000 according to some sources).
The updated Marco Polo will premiere at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf from August 28 to September 6, 2026, with production starting in mid-2026. The engine lineup remains diesel (163–237 hp), while an electric version on the VAN.EA platform is expected later this decade.
