LiftFund helps Kerr County businesses recover after flood

LiftFund provided grants and zero-interest loans to businesses in Kerr County, Texas, affected by the July 2024 flood. In January 2025, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country gave $10 million to LiftFund, with $7.4 million already disbursed. The co-owner of Guadalupe Keys RV Resort reported receiving a $50,000 grant but said no revenue is coming in, and recovery is stalled due to unclear permit processes.

Town of Elon Discusses Changes to RV Regulations

The Town of Elon held a community meeting to discuss potential changes to regulations for recreational vehicle storage and parking. Current rules prohibit using RVs as permanent residences and limit driveway parking to seven days per year. The Planning Department proposed moving RV policy from the Land Management Ordinance to the Town Code of Ordinances to facilitate updates. Final policy changes are scheduled for presentation at the Elon Town Council meeting on May 26.

Volkswagen Basecamp: Camper Van with Powertrain Choice

Dutch company Tonke will unveil the Volkswagen Basecamp camper van in May, based on the new T7 Transporter. The motorhome will be offered with three powertrain options: all-electric, plug-in hybrid, and diesel, and will also be available with 4Motion all-wheel drive. The four-sleeper features a pop-up roof, kitchen, toilet, shower, and an off-grid power system.

Charlie Sheen's 'Two and a Half Men' RV Up for Auction

A 1998 Prevost Marathon XL motorhome, used by Charlie Sheen as a dressing room during the filming of 'Two and a Half Men', is up for auction. The vehicle, later converted into a six-bunk tour bus, is being sold in Tennessee via the Bring a Trailer platform, with bidding ending on April 15.
