Two worlds — two caravans

Two opposite novelties have appeared on the camper market simultaneously. Dutch manufacturer Kabe introduced the Imperial 1000 TDL — the largest and most expensive caravan in Europe. It measures 11.5 metres in length, 2.5 metres in width, and weighs 2400 kg. Towing requires a vehicle with a braked towing capacity of at least 2800 kg and a BE driving licence. Price: around €143,000.

As a counterweight, Canadian company Escape Trailers launched the micro-caravan E13, just 4.2 metres long and weighing 839 kg. The model is designed to be towed even by electric cars. Inside, despite its compactness, you CAN stand upright, but there is no bathroom. Price: €20,600.

Drilled in the chassis plate

A caravan owner accidentally drilled a hole through the chassis number plate. According to an expert, caravans from 1969 onward have a stamped chassis number on the frame. If that is missing, a new number can be stamped and a registration inspection performed, while keeping the original plate.
